Carrie Ferrante was raised in southern Connecticut. She started acting when she was still in elementary school and began taking film classes in the 7th grade. By high school she had written her first script.
In high school she was in more than 10 plays, taking main and supporting leads in several. She was cast in a small role in the independent film 'Freezer Burn' in 2005, which went on to win awards at several film festivals including Park City. She co-wrote and starred in a full length play her sophomore year, wrote and directed a 1-act play her junior year, and abridged, directed, and acted in 'Hamlet' her senior year. By high school graduation she had filmed many videos and shorts and had written several screenplays, including one full-length script.
She began attending LIU Post (formerly C.W. Post) in fall 2008, where she became a film major with a concentration in screenwriting, and an Honors student in the Phi Eta Society. She acted in or worked on over a dozen college films, scripted a production lab film, and assistant directed a lab film and 2 thesis films. She is also proficient in production design, makeup design, editing with Final Cut Pro, and web design.
Her senior year she was Co-Editor, Copy Editor, and head of the достопримечательности Бухары and Literature departments of LIU Post's Loomings Literary Magazine. She graduated LIU Post in May with a BFA in Film with Honors, magna cum laude. She is in post-production on her thesis,
'Us & Them', completed in fall 2012. Since graduation, Carrie has production designed two shorts, 'The Sampler' and 'Pose'; was an art assistant on the film 'My Cross to Bear', production designed/managed and associate produced 'Return' with The Majors Productions, and was director's assistant in pre-production on 'The Hebrew Hammer 2', the sequel to the original cult classic. She ran a successful post-production fundraising campaign for 'Us & Them' on IndieGoGo, and was a key fundraiser for the grassroots 'Hebrew Hammer 2' campaign, which met its goal of $50,000 on Jewcer. Most recently, she production designed for the Majors Productions film 'Bloodlines', and began work as an assistant teacher at Fairfield Performing Arts Studio.
She has also worked on several corporate videos and book trailers, and is always writing!
